The Step family
Doodov's step sequencers for Reason, built on one eight-stage engine inspired by classic vintage hardware. Each stage holds a pitch, a pulse count, a gate mode, a ratchet pattern and slide and skip switches — so a single column describes a note, how long it lasts, how it's gated and how it slides. Same engine, two sizes: a compact 2U and a 4U flagship.

One engine, two sizes
The Step sequencers grew from a fondness for old hardware step sequencers — a row of stages, a handful of switches, and long musical phrases that unfold from a few settings. The shared engine covers the whole idea: eight stages of pitch, pulse, gate, ratchet, slide and skip; a thirty-scale quantizer with a live keyboard; sixteen play directions; internal or external clock with swing; and a deep per-parameter CV implementation. Both devices drive any Reason instrument over Pitch and Gate — they make no sound themselves.
Stepling is the compact 2U device: the full stage engine in a small panel, focused and fast to program. Step Farther is the 4U flagship: the same stages, opened up with a built-in Random engine — per-parameter chance and window that re-rolls the pattern every few cycles — a two-input AUX modulation matrix, direct per-stage pitch outputs, and patch support.
