Kinetic Gate Bouncing Generator — 4U CV device; nine velocity-scaled gates from wall hits, collisions and trip lines.
The Kinetic Generators family
A family of physics-driven generative devices for Reason, all built on one idea: four balls bounce around an arena, and every impact makes music. Wall hits, ball-to-ball collisions and trip-line crossings become events — delivered as raw CV gates, as pitched notes in your scale, or played straight into an instrument. One engine, three ways to use it.
// The story
One arena, three devices
The Kinetic Generators started from a simple, stubborn idea: what if the source of a pattern wasn't a step grid or a dice roll, but a little world with its own physics? Four balls, four walls, real momentum. They speed up when they collide and drift back to their set speed; they never quite repeat. Watch the arena and you can see exactly where every event comes from.
That shared engine — the arena, the collisions, the recovery, the trip lines, the velocity-from-speed mapping and the full CV implementation — is the ground all three devices stand on. What changes is what each one does with an impact. KGB-G turns it into a CV gate. KBN-G maps it to a pitched note in your chosen scale and hands you a voice per ball. KBN-P takes the same music and plays it directly into the instrument below, as a Reason Player.
All three share the two ratchet-ready trip lines, the ten scales, the Free / Quant timing and the deep per-ball CV. Pick the one that fits how you want to work — a CV brain, a note generator, or a hands-off Player.

Kinetic Generators family members
Kinetic Bouncing Note Generator — 4U CV device; 12 pitch zones, 10 scales, four gate+note voices, ratchet arpeggios.
Kinetic Bouncing Note Player — drop it on any instrument and the balls play it for you, up to four voices, notes passing through.
Status reflects current development. Devices ship when ready, and are announced at beta or release — never earlier.

There's something to discover
The ghost in the arena
There's a small surprise tucked into the back panel of the Kinetic devices — a little animation that only appears if you catch it the right way. We won't say how. Finding out is the point.
